Science Week at St Mary’s CofE Primary School

In March 2018, one of Withington’s physics teachers delivered science lessons at St Mary’s CofE Primary School as part of their Science Week. 

Background

A member of Withington’s Physics Department volunteered her time to help with St Mary’s Science Week. 

Resources

The teacher delivered four one-hour lessons at St Mary’s: one to Reception, one to Years 1 and 2, one to Years 3 and 4, and one to Years 5 and 6.

Impact

The specialist teaching enhanced the learning experience for the pupils. 

Seven teachers at St Mary’s observed the science lessons, and thus gained insight into potential science-based activities they could run in the future.

Pupil Involvement

More than 200 children took part in these lessons over the course of the week.
