Saturday Science Boosters
Between November and March each academic year, the Charterhouse Science Department runs 'booster courses' for teachers, especially focussed on NQTs, those seeking to refresh their professional skills, or those teaching a secondary science subject (most commonly Physics). Ten such Saturday sessions are hold. Teachers come from a range of state and independent schools, locally and further afield, and from teacher training institutions.
Aims
To support and provide outstanding teacher training for science teachers
To share Charterhouse Science Department's expertise and facilities with others
To enable science teachers to refresh and develop their knowledge and skill, especially in secondary disciplines
Background
The Science Department at Charterhouse has long run a range of courses for teachers from elsewhere, led by a Charterhouse Physics teacher.
