Information technology for Academic Progress
Charterhouse donates computer equipment to support academic progress of young people in other schools.
Aims
To support academic progress for pupils who otherwise could not afford to have computing equipment.
Rather than selling computing equipment it no longer needs, Charterhouse donates it to our partner school for them to provide to their pupils.
Background
Information technology is an effective way to improve academic progress, according to research by the Sutton Trust and Education Endowment Fund. For this reason, one of Charterhouse's strategic aims is to provide IT for disadvantaged children for this purpose.
Resources
The School donates computing equipment that it no longer requires, rather than selling it.
Staff in the IT department organise the donation. In 2020, the approximate resale value of the computing equipment donated was £1000.
