Eco-Schools network
Charterhouse is a member of the Surrey eco-schools network
Aims
To share ideas and activities for positive environmental action.
Pupils and staff across the schools meeting online to plan action.
The local environment will be the beneficiary, as well as the pupils involved in developing their team work and planning skills.
Background
The London eco-schools network introduced Surrey Schools to each other.
The Surrey partnership started in winter 2020.
Resources
Internet and a Zoom licence are crucial for meetings.
A member of staff from each school is required to coordinate and attend meetings.
Current costs are staff time of around 12-15 hours a year.
Impact
The impact on the pupils will be assessed via regular surveys.
Pupil Involvement
Approximately 20 pupils are involved from Charterhouse, aged 13-18.
Frequency
It is an ongoing partnership with half-termly meetings for pupils.
