Godalming Youth Orchestra

Godalming Youth Orchestra and Charterhouse have long enjoyed a close relationship. The orchestra is currently conducted by a Charterhouse teacher, and a number of pupils perform with the orchestra for its regular local concerts (some of which also take place at Charterhouse).

Aims

To enable young musicians from across the area, including Charterhouse, to learn and perform together

To perform and host high-quality concerts for the local community

To develop and support outstanding musical education within the Godalming area

To share Charterhouse's teaching expertise and venues with the wider community

Resources

The conductor of Godalming Youth Orchestra, Mr David Wright, is a Charterhouse teacher. He is also conductor of Godalming Town Band, Haslemere Town Band, Godalming Operatic Society, and is Honorary President of Godalming Music Festival.
