The Manchester Grammar School Primary History Talks
Members of The Manchester Grammar School History department visit primary schools throughout Greater Manchester to deliver lessons on specialists topics or content related to their current programme of study.
Aims
To provide informative, extensive lessons in History to primary school pupils.
Background
Developed out of our Primary History Conference, and through our partnership with The Blackden Trust, members of our History department visit primary schools throughout Greater Manchester to deliver lessons on specialist topics or content related to their current programme of study.
Examples of this include lessons to Year 4 pupils on life in Roman Manchester, and lessons delievered to pupils in Years 4-6 on about the First World War.
Resources
We raise awarness and money among our boys via school discos (alongside other Girls' schools in Manchester). We also collect old book and recycle these to take to the pupils in Nawaikoke College.
Pupil Involvement
Ages vary, but lessons are typically aimed at pupils in Years 4-6.
Frequency
Between three and four times a year.
