Support and Resources - Pocklington School Design Technology Department

The Design Technology Department at Pocklington School have provided assistance and support to Year 11 students at Newland School for Girls, to enable the pupils to complete their GCSE DT projects. This has included making available the laser cutting facilities at Pocklington School to the Newland School pupils.

Aims

The aim of the project is to share resources, support and information with other state schools, to allow pupils to reach their full potential in their studies.

Newland School currently does not have any laser cutting facilities at their school, so this scheme allow the  pupils to meet the syllabus criteria of the Design Technology GCSE examination.

Frequency

Pocklington School Design Technology Department have since donated a second hand laser cutter and IT hardware to Newlands School For Girls, for use in their DT work.  This means they can fulfil the requirements of their GCSE coursework inhouse, but the link with the school remains.
