Hosting football and rugby fixtures for state primary and secondary schools

Seven local Primary Schools, as listed below, use the sports facilities at Pocklington School to hold football tournaments.

Pocklington School hosted U13 and U15 rugby fixtures for Woldgate School and Sixth Form College

Aims

The aim of the partnership is to allow state primary and secondary schools in the local community to come together at one venue and enjoy competitive sport during a tournament.

Resources

The partnership schools use the sports facilities to hold an U9s and U11s football tournament.

A hot tea is provided at the end of each tournament, followed by a presentation.

Primary School pupils are accompanied by their teachers and one teacher from Pocklington Prep School liaises with the schools to organise and facilitate the day.

Impact

This activity facilitates participation and enjoyment in team sport.

Frequency

This activity occurs annually for each tournament age group.
