Netball Coaching Course

Hosting a Netball course to promote development in staff expertise from within our school but also other external schools. Wider community schools that took advantage of the opportunity for world class coaching in Worcester included Malvern College, The Downs, Stafford Grammar School.

Hosting a Netball course to promote development in staff expertise from within our school but also other external schools. Wider community schools that took advantage of the opportunity for world class coaching in Worcester included Malvern College, The Downs, Stafford Grammar School. 

Background

Head of Sport identified need for development in expertise of new staff joining the school. Therefore, she contacted Independent Coach Education to establish a course for RGS Worcester to host. The hosting of this course allowed other local schools to attend a top class coaching clinic on their doorstep. 

Resources

The School hosted the event providing the Sports Halls, relevant equipment for Netball (e.g. balls, bibs, cones and a sports space). Used teaching staff and also sports assistant and external coaches.

Impact

Thank you emails were received from the company for our hosting of the event and comments on the day from the visiting schools' staff were complementary about the day, facilities and expertise.

Pupil Involvement

Pupils were not used in this event.

Frequency

This was a one-off event, although the School would be open to other similar events.
