- 501-1000 state school pupils involved
- 500 staff hours given
Impact Statement
Partnership projects have involved sending RGS staff and pupils to local state schools to teach specific subjects (eg Maths and Careers), and inviting pupils in to RGS Worcester or its Prep Schools for academic and co-curricular events and activities.
At the Senior School, events for Primary Schools have included an Art & Dance Workshop with a local Multi Academy Trust group of seven Primary schools, our annual Science Eggstravaganza, during British Science Week, which this year hosted 84 pupils from twelve local state primary schools, an English creative writing event promenading around the school, a Primary Schools Netball Tournament for 11 local state schools, two free Netball Coaching Masterclasses, three Modern Foreign Language Mornings and a Sport Open Day. This year we have also begun an outreach programme for local state secondary schools and in the Autumn term hosted 59 pupils from five state secondary schools at an MFL event. RGS Worcester also runs what we believe is the largest Careers Fair in Worcester and invites local state secondary school pupils to attend.
At one of our Prep Schools, local first school children visited the school for a team building morning and an Under 8s Football and Netball Festival. Our other Prep School provides a venue and transport for local nurseries to do Forest School and sporting activities.
Training has been provided for staff from local Primary Schools in Digital Technology and its uses in schools, fulfilling RGS Worcester’s role as an Apple Distinguished School and an Apple Training School.
RGS Worcester employs an Outreach Co-ordinator whose role is to develop and support partnerships with other schools. Well over 900 teaching staff hours have been allocated to Outreach activities, provided free of charge to local state schools.

Arts Workshop July 2018
One of the local Primary Schools which took part remarked, “The children really enjoyed themselves and came back to school buzzing. Their art work was fantastic - they showed the class and talked about the morning. Thank you so much for organising this - we look forward to next year's!”.
Drama Workshop May 2018
From one of the participating Primary Schools, “We are thrilled to be able to attend your Drama Workshop. You really have pushed the boat out for us. Thank you so much.”
Science Eggstravaganza, March 2018
The Headteacher at one of the Primary Schools commented, “Many thanks for hosting yesterday’s event. The children have come back enthused by the whole experience. The whole afternoon sounds like it was a super learning experience for the children involving teamwork and determination. Thanks again for your time and effort, it is truly appreciated.”
MFL Morning – June 2018
We received the following comments from the morning, “The children had a great time and I was serenaded with a chorus 'Ich heisse ... und Ich bin 10 jahre alt' when they returned. Thank you very much for all the activities and opportunities you have given our children this year; we do really appreciate it.”
From another participating school, “I am writing to say a huge thank you to everyone who made Wednesday morning such a fun and memorable event for our Year 5 pupils. They all thoroughly enjoyed the morning and returned to school enthused and ready to share their experiences with their peers! Could you please extend our thanks in the first instance, to your Headmaster, for inviting us to your wonderful setting, but also to your MFL teacher who made it such a success. She helped our children to develop their confidence to have a go (and for some to step well out of their comfort zone!) and they all felt that they had learned some new vocabulary and been successful by the end of the lesson. She also showed an intuitive and special kindness to one of our boys - who can find new situations daunting. He was really happy to return to school with her kind gift of Nounours the teddy, who we will use for sleepovers in our French club! I will also be taking away some new teaching strategies to support the teaching of MFL. It was very kind of you to forward the resources from the lesson so that we can teach the rest of the class all about 'Ma Maison'. The children have already shown the class what they did on Wednesday and next week they will be the teachers, sharing the new vocabulary with their classmates!”
