US University Applications

This project is an opportunity to share expertise in the area of applying to US universities.  As fees have risen for UK universities opportunities to attend university in the USA have risen as an alternative.  Woldingham School has been in consultation with the Head of Sixth Form at Oxted School to provide awareness of the applications process and to facilitate support for their students. 

Aims

The aim is to provide Oxted students with assistance with the requirements and timing of the application process as they explore alternatives to UK universiites and educate them about opportunities through the Sutton Trust and Fulbright programmes.

Background

The partnership began when the US University Adviser at Woldingham School learned that some of Oxted's students were interested in applying to US universities.

Resources

There are plans for staff from Woldingham to attend Oxted School to provide a formal presentation to students

Impact

The anticpated outcomes include development of a plan to confidently offer US and Canadian university enrolment as a viable option for Oxted School's students.

Frequency

It is envisioned to become an ongoing project between the two schools.
