Supporting the Cardinal Hume Centre

The students at Woldingham School support The Cardinal Hume Centre by putting together 'blessings in a bag' through donations from students and staff to support the work of the Centre.  A number of students also visited the Centre prior to the school's annual Carol Service to assist in sorting through donated winter clothes which will be given to residents and disadvantaged families.  The girls discussed volunteering opportunities and fundraising and a donation of £3,849.60 was made towards the day to day running of the Centre.

Aims

The homeless and disadvantaged people who seek the support of the Cardinal Hume Centre benefit from the donations made by the school.  Projects such as this also raise the social awareness of the students.

Pupil Involvement

Woldingham's students are girls aged between 11 and 18.

Frequency

This is a well established ongoing project.
