Information Session to 6th Form Medics to Enable Them to Become Dementia Friends

A dementia champion with Alzheimer's UK speaks to a group of students preparing for medical interviews about what life is like with dementia and how those living with it can be helped to have a better quality of life.

Aims

To assist students in their understanding of and interactions with dementia patients.

Resources

No financial implications.  Gail has been released from school to run sessions.

Impact

No formal assessment.  Students gave verbal feedback to staff member at St Olave's which was very positive.

Pupil Involvement

Mixed, aged 17/18.

Frequency

Probably twice a year.
