John Lyon School 'Dystopia Day'

An initiative developed by the John Lyon School English Department to explore the concept of 'Dystopia' within 'A' Level English Literature during a one-day workshop designed specifically for GCSE students. John Lyon invited many local Schools to attend and take part in a day of learning and development in preparation for further study.

Aims

The aim was to introduce a new literary genre to prospective A-Level students of English as well as to allow students to collaborate and create.

Resources

All teachers from the John Lyon English Deparment took place and we hosted this event in the John Lyon Refectory and Gordon Surtees Library

Impact

Students from both Schools explored this new literary genre that is pertinent to their A Level studies

Year 10 students from all Schools, both John Lyon boys and visiting girls.
