John Lyon School debates with Whitmore High School

John Lyon School invited pupils from Whitmore High School into School for a series of friendly debates.

These are essentially 'learning debates' where younger pupils can gain experience and confidence

John Lyon School English Department teaching staff worked with their counterparts at Whitmore High School

The pupils learnt a great deal from facing 'unknown' peers, everyone gained valuable debating experience and their confidence has grown

Year 7 & 8 pupils from both Schools

This was part of an ongoing engagement programme with local Schools undertaken by the John Lyon School English department.
