Harrow CCF

The John Lyon School, as part of the Harrow Brigade, works with Pinner High School to provide support and training to their Combined Cadet Force (CCF).

Aims

To share expertise, training, equipment as well as provide the facilities and organisational structures of the Harrow Rifle Corps to local Academy, Pinner High School

Resources

The joint CCF groups use Harrow School Facilities, John Lyon School teaching and support staff join with teachers from partner schools in running CCF activities.

Impact

Raising the standards of the CCF brigade.

Pupil Involvement

Approximately 60 John Lyon pupils from Year 9 upwards join with a smaller number of boys from partner Schools who range from ages 14-18 to take part in CCF activities

Frequency

CCF activities take place weekly and there are also a number of other half termly, annual, and one-off events such as training and camps. This project has been running for a number of years and will continue for the foreseeable future
