Donation of Computer Monitors to neighbouring schools

The IT Dept were updating our computer systems and had a number of monitors to recycle or gift. 

Aims

In the interests of the environment the aim of the project was to make good use of the computer equipment we no longer had use for and to avoid using commercial recycling schemes. The hope was that other local schools could benefit from their use.

Background

We approached all the local state schools that we have relationships with and offered to donate as many monitors as they could use. Some schools were updating their computer labs and were grateful for the offer.

Resources

IT equipment and the use of staff from the IT and Partnership teams.

Impact

The schools who received the monitors were in the process of either updating their own equipment or were expanding their current IT facilities. They were very grateful for the donations from St Albans School.
