Bats in Churches

Lecture about bat conservation by a respresentative from Bats in Churches, to which our local secondary and sixth form partner schools were invited.

Aims

To give students and opportunity to find out about bats, why they are important, why they are a big headache for people looking after old buildings, and how we can all live together.

This was organised by the Head of Biology who linked up with the representative to arrange the lecture.

Resources

The lecture was delivered in our theatre and required staff time to arrange and organise.

Pupil Involvement

30 pupils from Forest and partner schools attended. Those who attended were all in the sixth form as it was a good opportunity for those interested in ecology and conservation in the furture.
