Wars of the Roses online conference
The King's School Canterbury was proud to take part in The Wars of the Roses online conference in March 2025. 30 of our pupils, alongside 55 from Simon Langton Girls' Grammar School, listened to experts discuss this pivotal period in English history. The Wars of the Roses (1455-1487) were a series of civil wars between the rival houses of Lancaster and York, both fighting for control of the English throne, ultimately leading to the rise of the Tudor dynasty.
Impact
The day featured six lectures covering different aspects of the period and concluded with a debate between two of the speakers.
Frequency
Staff and pupils alike greatly enjoyed the event which we hope to run again next year.
