SEND Conference - state and independent schools

King's School plans and hosts an annual SEND Conference, attended by key staff from over fifty schools from both the state and independent sector.

It is an excellent opportunity for the sectors to mix and learn from each other. Topics covered include JCQ regulation updates, growth mindsets, memory and recall and the potential impacts of COVID lockdowns on pupils.

Aims

The aim is to enhance the community of SEND teachers and support them through the provision of high quality CPD.

Background

The Conference has run for several years, interrupted by COVID. It is coordinated by our SENDCO and the partnerships office.

Resources

The Conference takes place on our school site in our Conference facilities at Birley's and on the main site. Our SEND staff attend and speakers are carefully chosen according to the identified theme.
