Teach Together Year 12 A Level Chemistry - Core Experiments with Ark Putney

The project will be adapted to meet the needs of the students but could involve Wimbledon High School staff actively engaging to support a Partnership schools' staff in the delivery of course content, in particular the practical element of the course. We want our A Level Chemistry students to work together with Partnership school students in practical based lessons. 

Aims

To provide opportunities for A Level students to carry out A Level practical experiments using apparatus and other resources they may have limited access to. 

Working with A Level students and teacher at the Partnership schools to support the teaching and delivery of practical course content. 

To look for opportunities to stretch and challenge and inspire curiosity, with a focus on in a practical context. 

Background

MCM expressed an interest to participate in the Partnership programme with an aim to support A Level teaching and delivery of course content with Partnership schools. 

Resources

Students from Ark Putney college attend the session at Wimbledon High every week, utilising the practical and chemical resources in the classroom. 

Impact

The impact on the students from the Partnership school is assessed by an internally devised questionnaire. The impact on Wimbledon High students and teachers will follow at the end of the project. 

Pupil Involvement

A mixed group of 4-8 A Level Chemistry students from Ark Putney college and Wimbledon High. 

Frequency

A 15 week course running from September through to Easter, this opportunity will be on offer every school year for the foreseeable future.
