Spanish Conversation

Wimbledon High School have partnered with Harris Academy Wimbledon to offer after school Spanish conversation classes. Wimbledon High Pupils will take on a teaching role and prepare weekly speaking activities, which will support the topics covered by HAW pupils in lessons.

Aims

To create a fun and engaging classroom environment, which allows HAW pupils to build their confidence and increase their fluency when speaking Spanish. Also, to encourage Wimbledon High pupils to take initiative and practise their language skills from the new perspective of being a teacher. 

Background

The project was first started last year but was limited to online interaction due to covid.

Resources

This project involves one member of staff, 8-10 Wimbledon High students, one minibus and a driver.

Impact

The impact on the Partnership school will be assessed via an internally devised questionnaire.

Pupil Involvement

Year 9 pupils from Harris Academy Wimbledon.

Frequency

The project takes place once a week during the Autumn and Spring terms for 15 weeks.
