KS4 Young Enterprise Group with St Aloysius’ College

Channing’s Assistant Director of Sixth Form and Young Enterprise Centre Lead works with Year 12 pupils from St Aloysius and Channing at Channing Senior School to help them develop ideas for projects that will enable them to take part in the national Young Enterprise Scheme.

Aims

To create a pathway for St Aloysius and Channing School pupils to work in groups to develop innovative ideas and gain practical learning experiences which will help them develop skills for the world of work.  They will realise the importance of working collaboratively as part of a team, whilst also developing their communication skills and building their confidence.

Background

This initiative started in September 2022 and is offered to Year 12 students from St Aloysius, alongside Yr 13 Channing students. We wanted to develop skills linked to the world of work, whilst also encouraging innovation. enrichment for students, particularly those who may not otherwise be able to participate in extra curricular clubs.  St. Aloysius encourages their students to participate in this group, which is beneficial for both schools.

Resources

The school provides a sandwich lunch for students from both schools.  Students benefit from an excellent range of resources available from Young Enterprise.

Impact

Students will develop real-life work skills whilst taking part in a nationally recognised programme offering excellent resources.

Pupil Involvement

The group is aimed at potential business students both at St Aloysius and Channing, but all students are encouraged to take part.

Frequency

This is a weekly activity which is 40 minutes in length.
