Jazz event for Parasol Project

Jazz evening featuring MSC musicians and bands and an interacive performance, followed by barbeque, for the Parasol Project, which works with young people at risk of social exclusion.

Aims

Aims to give live performances to people who might not otherwise get them, and to provide a social event for them, with opportunities for socialising with other young people.

Background

MCS Director of Music, invited the Parasol Project in 2013.

Resources

MCS Staffing, musical equipment, venue, catering.

Impact

The project is assessed through feedback given by the parasol project staff and members.

Pupil Involvement

Around 90 MCS students between 15 and 18 are involved annually and around 30 people of various ages are involved form the parasol project

Once a year, likely to continue for as long as possible.
