Sport - Shared Sports Hall

Hildenborough Badminton Club use the Walthamstow Hall Sports Centre on a daily basis with 100 junior members benefitting from the use of the Sports Hall. In addition, the local residents' badminton club also use the court one night per week.

Aims

To provide an opportunity for local youngsters to play badminton to the highest level. 

The beneficiaries of the partnership are the 100 members of Hildenborough Badminton Club and in addition the members of the local residents' badminton club.

Background

The partnership was established in 2015, as soon as the new Walthamstow Hall Sports Centre was opened.

Resources

Walthamstow Hall's Sports Centre, which includes four Badminton Courts in the Sports Hall, is crucial to the success of this partnership. Walthamstow Hall maintenance and caretaking staff enable access out of school hours.

Hildenborough Badminton Club make a financial contribution to use the Sports Centre.

Impact

Many members of Hildenborough Badminton Club have gone on to play their sport at National and International level. Members of the club have also been successful in gaining sports scholarships to Walthamstow Hall Senior School.

Frequency

Hildenborough Badminton Club use the Sports Centre every day. The partnership is well established and will continue for many years to come.
