Sport - Shared Sports Centre

Alongside sharing the School swimming pool and Sports Hall Walthamstow Hall also shares it's other sports facilities, notably the dedicated Gymnastics Hall, the Dance Studio and larger Drama Studio. Larger Dance groups also use the Main School Hall. Over 500 people use these facilities each week for Dance, Yoga or Gymnastics. Seven local organisations currently use the Dance and Drama Studios and Lightening Gymnastics has exclusive use of the Gymnastics Hall.

 

Aims

The aim is to make Walthamstow Hall's specialist facilities for dance and gymnastics available to the wider local community.

Approximately 300 children attend Lightening Gymnastics each week. In addition, over 200 people enjoy the dance and yoga classes offered by the other partners which use the School facilities.

Background

Sharing facilities is a long established tradition at Walthamstow Hall. Walthamstow Hall's Bursar identifies and builds relationships with partners and organises the access to the facilities.

Resources

The maintenance of and access to the School's Dance Studio, Drama Studio and Gymnastics Hall are crucial to the success of this partnership. The School's maintenance and caretaking staff are key to the partnership's success.

Partners make a financial contribution to use the facilities.

Impact

Over 500 members of the local community attend the dance, yoga or gymnastics classes offered by the third party partners using Walthamstow Hall's facilities each week. 

Frequency

Walthamstow Hall's facilities are available for the third party partners to use out of school hours and during school holidays throughout the year.
