Music - Wind and Brass Workshop Day, 2018

22 pupils from local primary schools attended a day long workshop devoted to playing wind and brass instruments. The pupils received ensemble coaching from a Walthamstow Hall visiting music teacher and an outside professional and then performed a concert for parents at the end of the afternoon. The day was free of charge and included lunch and refreshments.

Aims

To enable primary school pupils to experience being part of an ensemble for both teaching and performing in a Senior School setting. 

Background

Walthamstow Hall's Musical Workshops were the inspiration of the School's Director of Music who has establised them using the Music Department's resources and teaching staff.

Resources

The day used Walthamstow Hall's Main Hall and was facilitated by Walthamstow Hall Music teachers. Pupils attending did not make a fininacial contribution to the day.

Pupil Involvement

Walthamstow Hall pupils are not involved in the day.

Frequency

Walthamstow Hall Music workshops have been an annual event since 2017.
