Sport - Fixtures
Walthamstow Hall fixtures include a large number played against maintained schools. This is especially the case for netball, rounders and swimming.
Aims
Fixtures provide an opportunity for competition for all pupils involved.
The organisation of the fixtures is shared by the Walthamstow Hall PE team and opponent's PE teams.
Background
Walthamstow Hall has long standing relationships with many of the schools against whom fixtures are played. Schools against whom Walthamstow Hall plays regular matches are: Tonbridge Grammar, Knole Academy, Trinity, Hillview, St Gregoryt's, Bennett Memorial, Weald of Kent and Tunbridge Wells Girls Grammar.
More recently, Walthamstow Hall has started competing in more National Leagues, for example for netaball, which has increased the number of schools played against, these have recently included: Highworth Grammar, Invicta Grammar, Gravesend Grammar, St John's Catholic Comprehensive, Davison High, Chislehurst & Sidcup Grammar, Newstead Woods.
Resources
Walthamstow Hall's PE team are involved in the organisition of matches and many take place at Walthamstow Hall. Walthamstow Hall staff often act as umpires, especially for local matches.There is no financial contribution for matches.
Pupil Involvement
Walthamstow Hall pupils participate in all matches.
Frequency
Matches run throughout the year, Netball in the Autumn and Spring term, Rounders in the Summer term and swimming throughout.
