Sharing Swimming Facilities with Local Schools

Every week we lend our indoor swimming pool to pupils from St Edward's Catholic Primary School and St George's School. These schools would not be able to offer swimming lessons without our support. This is a long-standing partnership which has benefited in recent years from the refurbishment of our swimming pool.

The aim of this partnership to introduce primary-aged children to swimming and to promote a lifelong love of the sport alongside a healthy lifestyle. We provide the pool and also swimming teaching to St George's as they do not have a qualified coach. This is a commitment of teaching time, preparation time as well as physical resources. There is a qualitative outcome for the girls and boys from the schools. The ability to swim is on the decline nationally and Francis Holland School is playing its part to support swimming.
