Latin teaching at Westminster Academy
One UCS teacher teaches Latin at Westminster Academy every Friday afternoon. This is a well-established placement and his lessons remain ever popular. The project began in January 2015.
The first two students in WA’s history did Latin GCSE last Summer (2016): both achieved an A*.
Aims
To stretch students at higher ability end by offering a challenging GCSE in a reduced period of time.
To impart a knowledge, understanding and love the Ancient World in pupils.
To achieve the best GCSE results possible with the students taking public exams.
Background
The project began in January 2015. Each Friday a UCS teacher teaches two classes of Latin to students at Westminster Academy.
