Community Work 2024/25

Year 6 Pupils Service at Holy Trinity Christmas Lunch

Our whole Year 6 cohort visited Holy Trinity Combe Down to serve at their annual Christmas lunch for elderly members of the congregation and community.

Our pupils helped serve food, talk to guests, tidy up, and sing Christmas carols.

The guests loved interacting with the pupils, who brought joy to the occasion, whilst our pupils also benefited from talking to the guests and developing a sense of service.

Fox Hill Christmas Lunch and Hampers 2024

A group of 12 Monkton Sixth Form pupils helped at the Fox Hill Community Christmas Lunch, run by St Andrew's Church. Our pupils served food, sang carols, chatted to guests, and helped tidy up. Our community also donated a number of hampers for distribution to those in need.

Aims: For Monkton pupils to provide a service to the community.

Background: This is the third year we have helped with this event, through partnership with St Andrew's Community Church. We were invited back to help them again.

Resources: 12 Monkton Sixth Form pupils and 2 members of staff. A number of hampers were put together through donations from our school community.

Impact: Our pupils benefitted from being able to serve at this event and chat to local residents. The team at Fox Hill appreciated the support, and guests loved having the pupils there. The hampers will support those in the community in need over Christmas.

Bath Council/Libraries Coat Collection

Monkton parents and staff were asked to donate coats towards the Bath Libraries collection for people in need this winter. Our community rallied and responded to the call, with a total of 12 bags of coats being donated.

The running the collection were blown away by the donation, and we are delighted to be able to make a difference through these donations.
