Transport support

We provided transport for 26 Year 5 and 6 children from Hertford St Andrews CE (VA) Primary School to attend a sporting event at Woodson Sports Centre.

Aims

The of this trip was to allow the 26 children to attend and take part in a Hertfordshire Sports Programme for Primary schools.

Providing transport allowed the participation as the cost of transport was prohibitive. providing both the minibuses and drivers were essential for the children of HSA to participate in this event.

The 26 mixed gender children attended and developed their range of skills and participation in a range of sports coached by qualified staff.

Background

The partnership with Hertford St Andres has been in place for a number of years (10+). Our relationship with the clergy of St Andrews Church in Hertford allowed this partnership to develop and flourish.

Resources

The use of our two school minibuses and two qualified drivers.

The buses were used to collect the children and staff from HSA and take them to Wodson Park, collect them and return the to school at the end of the session.

No financial contribution was requested.

Impact

Anecdotal feedback from HSA staff tells us that attending these events has allowed children of all abilities to engage and flourish during the sessions.
