Reading FC Community Trust football boot appeal

Reading Blue Coat School is proud to support Reading FC Community Trust in their efforts to provide football boots for disadvantaged and at-risk young people in the Reading area. Many children in their programs lack proper equipment, which can limit their ability to participate in the sport they love.

Aims

Reading FC Community Trust work with disadvantaged children by offering regular football courses. Many of the children in their program do not have access to the proper equipment, which can significantly impact their ability to participate in the sport they love.

The aim of this partnership is to provide a donation point for new and used football boots.

Background

The Director of the Aldworth Partnership has links with Reading Community Trust through the goalkeeper courses they offer. This initiative will run through the summer term.

Resources

Communication to parents and students is the key to success. The Aldworth Partnership prefects have the responsibility for promoting this to the student body. The initiative also featured in Blues Post (weekly newsletter to parents) and social media postings.

Impact

All contributions will go to Reading FC Community Trust. These will be used in a ‘borrow box’ for children to use at lunch time and PE lessons

Pupil Involvement

The initiative is open for contributions from all members of Reading Blue Coat.

Frequency

This initiative will run through the summer term in 2025.
