Music Station - primary school project

A RBCS pupil volunteered to create a Music Station for a local primary school in his own time using recycled materials.

Aims

The aim of this project was to create a Music Station for Year 1 pupils to enjoy in their playground. 

Background

This project was identified by the Deputy Head of the Primary School following a meeting in June 2024 to explore partnership possibilities.

Resources

The RBCS pupil who volunteered their time to undertake the project utilised the facilities in the Design Technology department and was supervised by a member of staff. The project was made after school.

Impact

Initially, around 25 pupils enjoy using the Music Station at their school on a regular basis. The product is well made and should have a long life so can be used by other pupils for many years to come.

Pupil Involvement

The Year 10 student undertook this project as part of his DofE volunteering activities.

Frequency

Similar projects will be undertaken throughout the year with groups of students who want to volunteer and undertake a service activity.
