Musical Theatre Day

Girls from a local school were invited to learn a range of musical theatre songs and dances from the musicals ‘Matlida’, ‘Seussical the Musical’ and ‘Annie’.  At the end of the day, they performed their pieces to teachers and parents.

Aims

To create links with state schools in the community and encourage communication between the two schools and participation of the girls.

 

Resources

St Mary’s teaching staff (drama and dance), plus piano, dance outfits etc.

Impact

The one off live performance was a success, along with the immersion of girls within musical theatre idiom and strengthening of ties between the two schools.

Visit to St Mary’s for one day.
