Harris Primary Intensive Swimming Lessons

Pupils from Harris Primary East Dulwich attend Alleyn’s for a week of intensive swimming lessons. This is an ongoing partnership.

Resources

Teachers split the School into four groups, each group had a 45 minutes swimming lesson, each day for one week.

Alleyn’s supplied four swimming teachers and one lifeguard for the sessions to the local School.

The swimming pool was hired to the School free of change.

Impact

The pupils saw an improvement in their swimming at the end of the week.

"All pupils taking part improved their swimming confidence and/or ability. Progress was evident e.g. two pupils had never been in a swimming pool before and were terrified to even get in the water - these two children were confident to swim with floats/other swimming aids by the end of the week."

38 pupils from Harris Primary, East Dulwich, had daily swimming lessons at Alleyn's School.

Frequency

Harris Primary will return next year for another week of intensive swimming lessons.
