'Get the Edge' conference
During the school lockdown period resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, St Mary's School Year 11 pupils took part in the 'Get The Edge' conference - 'a virtual conference to help students navigate the new normal' and provided this opportunity to fellow Year 11 pupils at St Bede's School.
Aims
Designed for students from GCSE to A-level, the 'Get the Edge conference' provided five days of engaging and inspiring virtual sessions. Each seminar was focused on helping students to explore the multitude of questions that this extraordinary time presents - while giving them inspiration and insights crucial to building successful futures.
Sessions covered topics including the future of work, tips and tricks for university applications and stories from inspiring young professionals of how they battled uncertaity to build successful careers in diverse fields.
Pupil Involvement
This course was made available to 10 Year 11 girls from St Bede's, who joined the programme alongside Year 11 St Mary's girls.
Frequency
This multi-day virtual conference gave students the opportunity to take part in two hours of sessions each morning for five consecutive days.
