BTEC Animal Care

Students from local secondary school use the Farm Facilities at Holme Grange to deliver their Animal Care curriculum.

Aims

To give learners the opportunity to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal skills and attributes
essential for successful performance in their BTEC qualification through hands on experience on the farm.

Background

Local secondary school teaches BTEC Animal Care but does not have the facilities that Holme Grange has. 

Secondary studnets are brough on site by their own staff who use the farm on a weekly basis to support delivery of their curriculum.

Started Sept 2018 and is an ongoing project.

No financial contribution is made and St Crispin's bring their own staff

Impact

Anticipated outcomes will be the success in pupils achievement of their BTECH qualification through practical hands on experience. 

Pupil Involvement

Y10 and Y11 students, some opportunities for students studying the same programme of study at Holme Grange to join St Crispin's pupils and share experience.

Frequency

Weekly, on going activity as long as the programme of study is being taught.
