Winter Mountaineering Expedition with Tunbridge Wells Girls Grammar

The College has been fortunate to have the staff and tradition in place to run annual winter mountaineering course in The Cairngorms for the past 60 years. This year, following a successful joint annual camp with Tunbridge Wells Girls Grammar School, we are pleased to have 3 students and a member of staff joining the expedition. This will enable these students to experience a week of expert instruction and to learn the foundations of winter mountaineering.

Impact

The specific skills (navigation, personal technical skills, meteorological and winter mountain safety) gained will be useful to any student taking part, but the more general skills of resilience, teamwork and communication in testing conditions.
