Student Literacy and Numeracy Support

Sixth form students from St George's School, Ascot have been giving their time to help improve literacy and numeracy, and help teachers by acting as classroom assistants with young pupils at local schools.

Aims

The girls one-to-one work aims to help younger students gain confidence in their reading ability.

Impact

The Headteacher and teachers at one local school have commented on the value and importance of the children to read regularly, particularly following Covid. Impact evaluation will be assessed at the end of the academic year.

Frequency

This is an on-going weekly activity throughout the academic year.
