Sharing good practice
St George's School works with local schools to share and develop good practice in a number of areas, including teaching and boarding practices.
The Head of KS2 Maths visited St George's to observe First Year teaching, and to brainstorm ideas about how to improve teaching and engage the pupils further in their learning.
A housemaster from Holyport came to St George's to meet with the Sixth Form Housemistress, to observe and discuss how boarding works in a different setting. There was particular focus on boarding in the Sixth Form as this is relatively new at Holyport College.
The Head of KS2 English from Connaught Junior School visited St George's to observe some First Year English lessons, for inspiration. Following the lessons, the teacher discussed teaching ideas with the English department from St George's, to gain insight into how we teach First Years (Year 7's).
Two of our Religious Studies teachers met with a local teacher from a nearby comprehensive school. The teacher was invited into the school to observe lessons and discuss the GCSE specification. They then shared lots of resources and contact details.
