Royal Society of Chemistry Christmas Lectures
The annual Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) Christmas Lectures allow pupils to experience a series of exciting chemistry experiments live on stage. Over 1,000 pupils from schools across Greater Manchester, including Year 9 pupils from the Boys' and Girls' Divisions, attend these events each year.
Aims
The RSC's Christmas Lectures get pupils excited about chemistry and allow them to see exciting experiments in action, while also learning about the science behind the spectacle.
Resources
Bolton School's Great Halls are used to host the Lectures. There are normally two Lectures held, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, to allow the maximum number of pupils to take in the show.
Frequency
The School hosts the RSC Christmas Lectures annually in December.
