Partnership with Heathlands School

Sixth form pupils offer classroom assistance for two hours every Monday afternoon throughout the year. Tasks will include reading to the children, individual help with English or maths, and general help to the teacher in charge of the group.

Canford School pupils and staff also offer assistance to Heathlands pupils beginning to learn French and run an Art club for Heathlands pupils.

Background

Canford offered extra help. Heathlands was already well known to Canford through the Shine project.

A Canford teacher drives the pupils to Heathlands, but does not stay.
