The Chadlington Scholarships
Every year the School offers two fully supported, transformational bursaries to 6 formers from the local Medway State Schools.
This is a life-changing opportunity for boys and girls with academic and personal potential, to enjoy the varied benefits of the School and its facilities in academic, sports, drama, music and co-curricular activities.
Aims
At King’s Rochester, our aim with the Chadlington Scholarships is to offer exceptionally gifted pupils, whose life opportunities may have been limited by background or circumstance, a fully-funded, transformative educational experience which they otherwise would not have been able to access.
The Chadlington Scholarships are aimed at boys and girls currently studying at local, maintained non-selective schools and whose personal circumstances may not permit them to extend their studies into the Sixth Form and thereby realise their full potential. As a result, applicants for this Scholarship are not only assessed on their academic potential, but also on other talents and against specific criteria, such as whether they are the first generation of their family with the dream of going to university.
Background
This award has been made possible thanks to the vision, generosity and philanthropy of a successful former pupil, Peter Gummer, the Lord Chadlington of Dean.
Frequency
The Chadlington Scholarship offers TWO fully-funded (100% of Day Pupil fees) Sixth Form places each year for a two-year course of A-Level study starting in the Lower Sixth (Year 12) and continuing into the Upper Sixth (Year 13).
