STEM Potential
Our new cohort of 28 Year 10 pupils joined STEM Potential, taking our total to 82 capable young people on the Imperial College London supported programme.
Aims
Aimed at students in the East Midlands area from backgrounds under-represented in higher education who are looking to study STEM at university, STEM Potential offers entry points in both Year 10 and Year 12. Those joining in Year 10 are supported through to Year 13, with time spent at Oundle every half term and a range of focused sessions, virtual events with the College, university preparation workshops, Science clubs, taster events and lectures on offer. A STEM course at Oundle in July is also part of the programme.
Background
Oundle STEM Potential is the sister programme to STEM Potential, an Imperial College London outreach programme which has been running since 2014. We were the first School outside of London to take on the programme with the College’s blessing and we deliver it with the support of the OPEN Learning Partnership.
