Somerset School Games

The Somerset School Games are held at Millfield three times per year, for up to 2000 children at each event.

Aims

The aim is to increase participation in sport and active recreation across Somerset.

The School Games is a key Government priority for realising a meaningful sporting legacy from the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It is supported by three Government Departments - Department for Education, Department of Culture, Media and Sport, and the Department of Health - with funding from Sport England, through the National Lottery. The School Games underline this Government's commitment to providing a new approach to competitive school sport designed to motivate and enthuse all young people.
