Primary School Homework Club
KGS Sixth Form students will run a weekly/fortnightly homework club helping pupils with their homework in maths, English or topic work.
Aims
The aim is to support pupils, boosting their self-confidence and attainment.
We, as a school, also recognise the value and experience this brings to our Sixth Formers - teaching them skills of working with younger children.
Background
It was recognised that as a school we could offer this support and therefore free-up teacher and teaching assistant time in the local primary schools.
Resources
Sixth form students go to the partner schools and offer their help there.
Impact
"Homework Club has been very successful. Our parents have been delighted with Homework Club. This has been aimed at children who are reluctant to do any homework at home. Your students have done a wonderful job supporting them and getting them to complete most of their tasks!"
