Inspiring young Scientists (St Gregory's)

Since establishing our partnership in 2014 College has provided St Gregory's School with enhanced learning opportunities in the areas of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Design Technology.

Pupils from St Gregory's benefit from the use of our dedicated Science facilities through exposure to working with real-life experiments and science-based problems, for which they do not have their own provision.

Aims

We aim to

  • inspire young pupils to become interested and curious in the sciences
  • give young pupils exposure to working with real-life experiments and science-based problems
  • identify scientists of the future

Background

The Head of Science at College was approached by the Head of Science from St Gregory's

Pupil Involvement

All science workshops are currently run by College teaching staff.  New plans are proposed to involve College 6th Form students in the delivery of workshops This will have the added benefit of younger St Gregory's pupils being inspired by working with their older peers.

Frequency

The workshops remain on-going.
