EtonX UK Schools Offer
Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, Eton College have worked alongside EtonX to offer EtonX Future Skills online courses to every state secondary school in the United Kingdom free of charge.
Aims
These EtonX Future Skills courses, which are created in collaboration with teachers at Eton, cover a diverse set of topics from resilience to public speaking. The aim of the courses is to bridge the gap between academic success and life in the real world.
Background
The priority, for Eton College and for EtonX, was to answer the call of “what could we do?” at the beginning of the first national lockdown in March 2020.
Resources
The EtonX Future Skills courses were offered free of charge to any UK state school student over the age of 14. The Partnerships team at Eton College worked together with EtonX to invite every eligible school in the UK to join.
Impact
In the first year, more than 900 hundred schools took up the offer, with access codes delivered to over 220,000 students and first-hand accounts testifying to the positive impact of EtonX.
In January 2021, Eton College and EtonX were shortlisted for a prestigious Bett Award as a ‘COVID-19 Response Champion’.
