Careers event
Ryde schools runs an annual careers event which is open to pupils from across the island where they can speak to people from a range of industries.
Aims
The aim is give pupils information needed to make good choices and to inspire them about their futures.
Background
This event was set up by the head of careers at Ryde School who ran a very successful internal event and wanted to open this up to pupils from other schools.
Resources
The school's classrooms are used for the event which takes place over one evening and the Head of Careers uses his extensive connections to ensure that the event is a success. The costs are met by Ryde school.
Impact
It is hard to measure the impact with certainty; however feedback from those who attend the event is very positive.
